Books of the Month: May

Hello everyone! Books of the month is officially back! I took a mini break from it due to lack of time to read anything except school books. Since those kinda suck I figured it would just be best to wait until I had more time to do my BOTM. I hope you enjoy!

  1. If you are looking for a book to tear your heart into teeny tiny pieces, All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven is just for you. I had to read this book over the summer before my freshman year for my English class, and I loved it. It was like a John Green novel without all the sappiness and gooey heart eyes. To this day, I love the story of Violet and Theodore.
  2. I think pretty much everyone has read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. But if you somehow haven’t, you definitely need to check it out. The only reason I am putting it in my Books of the Month is because while the US hasn’t started throwing us into districts and having kids murder each other, it is starting to go in that direction. Maybe we can find a way to fix our problems in this book.
  3. Finally, Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. This book is AWESOME, and so many memories for me hide in this book. I read this book so many times through middle school and my copy went everywhere with me. This book is basically about the main character (Tally) getting ready to get her surgery to become a Pretty and spend the rest of her life partying. Once Tally meets her new friend Shay, everything changes, and soon she is rebelling everything she ever knew. This book is one of my favorites, and worth the read.

All of these books have had such a positive influence on my life these past few years. I hope you all cherish them as much as I have!
